I Love Jesus

The Young Flock

Jesus is the Good Shepherd and YOU are one of His little lambs!

Hello little friends! This page is for children who love Jesus (or who want to know Him better) ...and of course, Mum and Dad.
Everything here comes from the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) but in words you can understand!

God Loves You SO Much!

Before you were even born, God knew your name and loved you. You are His special child (CCC 27).
He made the stars, the sea, and every fluffy sheep, but you are His favourite masterpiece and best friend!

Who is God? The Three Best Friends

We believe in ONE God who is THREE persons – like a family:

  • God the Father – He made everything and looks after us.
  • Jesus – God’s Son who came to earth as a baby and died on the cross because He loves us.
  • Holy Spirit – He lives in your heart when you are baptised and helps you be brave and kind.

Jesus is Alive!

Jesus died on Good Friday, but on Easter Sunday He rose again! That means He is with you right now, when you’re happy, scared, or even hiding under the duvet.....He's with you always!

The Seven Sacraments – Jesus’ Big Hugs

  1. Baptism – You became God’s child and got a white dress or candle!
  2. Holy Communion – Jesus comes into your heart when you eat the special bread.
  3. Confession – Telling Jesus “sorry” and He wipes your heart clean.
  4. And four more you’ll learn when you’re bigger!

Prayers We Love

Our Father (the prayer Jesus taught us)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…
Hail Mary (we ask Jesus’ Mummy to pray for us)
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee…
Glory Be (We praise God)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit…

Fun Games to Grow Closer to Jesus

Prayer Treasure Hunt
Hide pictures or little cards around the house that say one line of the Our Father. Find them in order and say the whole prayer together when you finish!
Holy Spirit Wind Sock
Decorate a paper tube with red, orange and yellow streamers. Run outside – the wind reminds us of the invisible Holy Spirit!
Rosary Colouring Chain
Colour 10 beads for each Hail Mary (different colour for each mystery). Stick them in a long chain. When it’s finished you have a paper rosary!
Prayer Hands
Trace your hand. On each finger write one person or thing you want to pray for. Every time you look at your hand, say a quick prayer!
Find Jesus in Church
Next time you’re at St Paul's RC Church, see if you can spot:
• The tabernacle (Jesus’ special house with the red light)
• The crucifix

• Whatelse can you spot

When You Have Questions

It’s OK to wonder! God loves your questions, he knows you are thinking about him.

  • Ask Mum or Dad
  • Ask Fr Stphen or if you have your own priest (they LOVE children’s questions!)
  • Ask in your First Holy Communion class
  • Or just talk to Jesus, He hears everything
